Who Are The Job Market Winners?

by Doug Johnson

By now you have probably heard that DHL is virtually pulling out of US package delivery market altogether. DHL's decision is a painful one, to the tune of about 9,500 US jobs, with a large percentage of those jobs in Ohio. While this is a terrible blow to the customers and employees of DHL there have always been economic winners-even in not so great economic times.

So who are the winners? You of course (assuming you get with a company that is doing well right now). The goal is for you to stay on the winning side and if you aren't there yet, no problem, let's get you there. So who are the companies do well? Well if you are displaced because of DHL, you had better believe that FedEx and UPS are ramping up their staff to get their share of the DHL customers left orphaned. Also, here are some companies that are fairing well and definitely worth looking at.
  1. FedEx Jobs
  2. UPS Jobs
  3. Radio Shack Jobs
  4. Sears Careers
  5. Apria Sales
If you have been out of the job market for a while (good for you!), a lot has changed and you may need to brush up on your job interview skills and update your resume to maximize your chances of landing the job. As you know, job market shrinkage means more competition for fewer jobs. So it is definitely in your best interest to fine-tune your soft skills to make you stand out from the rest. Now, go get um'.
