Senior Implementation Consultant This position exists to provide expert support and guidance to facility and regional level improvement advisors (e.g., design, planning, communication, coordination, project team over-site, implementation, monitoring, reporting, evaluation) and technical support for Kaiser Permanente's improvement system.

The scope of work projects will be broad and comprehensive and include development of performance improvement capacity educational tools that will support promotion of the Department of Care and Service Quality and national Quality Committee priorities to improve performance in any of the 'Big-Q Areas.' Key stakeholders include but are not limited to the National Leadership Team, National Quality Committee, Regional leadership groups, regional and facility representatives and labor management partners.

This position facilitates, directs, and leads program office and interregional activities to achieve organizational performance improvement capacity goals.

Plans, organizes, and directs the operation of performance improvement capacity efforts and programs and execution strategy for strategic initiatives as identified by the leadership of the Department of Care and Service Quality and the National Quality Committee.

Advises the overall development of programs for improvement capacity and consults with various internal and external stakeholders on execution of performance improvement initiatives including local site leaders, staff physicians, labor partners, regional and national colleagues, and senior leaders at all levels in efforts aligned with KP's quality and business strategies.

Essential Functions:

- Delivery of performance improvement training includes workshops, webinars, conference calls, and presentations to regional and facility leaders, managers and staff.

Works with operations team to plan and deliver in-person trainings and coordinates with national

CME

committee.

- Provide project management and facilitation for the Curriculum Group, our national faculty group, to develop and refresh curricula for four audiences, frontline, change agent, expert, and leadership.

- Manages external development programs such as

IHI

Endowment Scholarships and Intermountain Healthcare's Advanced Training Program registration, including tracking participation.

- Leads development of an enterprise-wide expert network amongst Improvement Advisors, Patient Safety Officers, and other participants of

KP

and

IHI

improvement programs.

- May provide consultation to teams doing improvement work.

This includes planning, assessment, analytics, and teaching about rapid improvement and related front line team efforts.

- Manages the development of curriculum and programs insuring consistency across program.

- Maintains a schedule of refreshing and updating core curriculum content.

- Manages the delivery of programs with a focus on customer service and timely scheduling.

- Manages the evaluation of programs and feedback to instructors and leaders.

- Develops and manages performance improvement website and related databases.

- Develops and manages faculty planning.

- Manages the improvement network as needed and guided by director.

- Develops, obtains and prepares materials to post on the quality website and/or distributes to stakeholders as part of spread, leads efforts to obtain active participation from regional representatives.

Qualifications:

: - Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience - At least 5 years experience in project management and/or combination of time in program management, curriculum development and educational experience with pertinent experience related to healthcare, managed care, hospital and ambulatory clinical settings.

- Demonstrated ability to determine key performance improvement needs, lead project teams, excellent verbal and written skills, and effective interpersonal skills desired.

- 4-year degree in relevant field required and equivalent experience.

Thorough knowledge of policies, practices and systems.

Complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards.

Full knowledge of industry practices.

Broad application of principles, theories, and concepts in applicable discipline, plus working knowledge of other related fields Preferred Qualifications:

- Master's degree - Kaiser Permanente experience desired.

- Experience in applying improvement methodologies.

- Broad knowledge of adult learning models and instructional design.

- Demonstrated ability to conduct and interpret quantitative and qualitative analysis.

- Excellent presentation and leadership skills in formal educational sessions.
