recession increases job opportunities

So just how does the current recession actually increase job opportunities. Well since the increase of economic fears hear in the US, the illegal immigration flight from Mexico has curtailed quite a bit. So while the job market contracts, so too does the labor pool. Thus, for what jobs do remain, US citizens actually have less competition for some jobs. In particular, less competition from illegal immigrants. Crazy isn't it. It takes a recession to fix a problem that should never have been a problem anyway, with adequate enforcement of the labor laws already on the books. Its amazing how you have to go left sometimes to go right - figure of speech. So the big question is, once the economy recovers, do we go back to the same immigration issues or do we intend to fix our immigration problem by putting the burden on Mexico to fix their economic situation? Uuuhh Ohhh...did it again. Foot in mouth
