The Lakers win their 15th title with Kobe Bryant leading the way and winning his 4th NBA title. What could be more important to the city of Los Angeles than that? Well, the city says that jobs are little more important than a Lakers championship parade. City workers are already being forced to take leave. When that starts happening, layoff announcements are almost certain to follow. So, considering the city's economic condition, city officials don't think footing the bill of $1 million plus, is the right thing to do. Of course, a little pressure from LA City Unions, makes the decision not to pay for the Laker's parade a little easier. So while this is a great moment for the City of Los Angeles and the Lakers, looks like the champs will need to find another sponsor for the victory celebration. The jobs of LA city workers and perhaps even creating a few more jobs is just a tad bit more important.
