gm dealership closings and job cuts hit home

Its no secret that GM is in BK and all. More importantly, for the little guy, though is that GM recently announced dealship closings in many states. So who faired well and who didn't? Well lets just say the Key State - Pennsylvania wasn't on the top of the list, as far as friends with GM goes. As a result, Pennsylvania will see 90 dealer closings, which equates to the hardest hit state in terms of dealership closings which ultimately means job cuts. Up next on the chopping block is Ohio with 79 dealership closings. Gosh, can Ohio get any good news? Now for you Floridian's, perhaps you are "lucky", with only 35 dealership closings. Crazy how loosing 35 dealerships equates to being lucky; but, when you compare it Pennsylvania it certainly puts matters into perspective. The exact number of job cuts related to these closings is not yet known. Perhaps because the number is too high? Who knows. Perhaps equally as important are GM auto owners. I sure would hate to own a GM in Pennsylvania and have it breakdown or need scheduled service. What are you going to do - tow it to Ohio? I think not. Maybe tow it to New Jersey - they appeared to do well as far as GM dealership closings goes. One thing for sure it that if it breaks down in Pennsylvania you sure cant tow it to a local dealership. Ditch the GM - get a ford. Foot in mouth
