Up until now, perhaps like most of us, you've been under the impression that doom and gloom is upon us and companies just aren't hiring. Well it may be true that hiring is still slow thus job openings are tight; but a least for some city workers the merit system pays. Digg this, police officer gets pay increase of - hold onto your hats - 47% in a single year. Yes that is nearly a 50% pay increase in a single year. So what's the effective salary after the pay increase? How about $84,000!! When was the last time you heard of a police officer with a $84,000 a year salary. All day long, the average police offer salary is $35,000 - $40,000. So this police officer's salary is more than double the national average for a police officer's salary. To top it off, all this is going on all while San Diego is in a budget crisis. Wow! Who was that saying crime doesn't pay? Sounds like they lied, because crime pays quite well in some cities - in particular San Diego. BTW - are there any more job applications left?
