sky high minority unemployment alarms congressional black caucus

It may be the season of holiday cheer, but the sky high minority unemployment rate alarms Congressional Black Caucus members. The unemployment rate amongst Whites is high too - so what's the big deal right? Hold on cowboy - not so fast. The jobless rate for Blacks is 67% higher than for Whites. Also, the jobless rate for Hispanics is 36% higher than for Whites. Now the latter should be quite alarming. Why? Well how about the current US illegal alien problem? Something about that just smells fishy, illegal aliens (many of which are Hispanic) have a narrower unemployment gap between Whites, whereas native African Americans possess an unemployment rate nearly double that of Hispanics in relationship to Whites.

Well the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) wants to spur job creation with the unused TARP funds, amongst other things. Hummh, that idea sounds a little familiar...perhaps because you heard it first at The Job Seeker Blog i.e. allocate TARP funds for jobs versus bailing out the likes of AIG. Surely, its a good idea to allocate unused TARP funds towards job growth for the unemployed across the board; however, that's going to be quite a challenge, to say the least, with swaying Washington to reallocate Billions earmarked for the Elite to being earmarked for the Working Class. I'm not sure about you, but i wouldn't bet the house on that one. The ironic part is that you would think the timing is ripe to attack the minority employment disparity issue given the nations first African American President.

Some things may have changes but Washington politicking is alive and well. Thus, it may be a little far fetched to think the President, alone, would be able to mount an attack on the the nations high unemployment rate, as well as the exceptionally high unemployment rate amongst minorities. So while the sky high minority unemployment rate alarms members of the Congressional Black Caucus, the Washington power brokers will undoubtedly find a more deserving cause for the Bailout Billions like say doling out more insane amounts of cash to forthcoming insolvent banks or propping up the slew of forthcoming corporate bankruptcy filings to start off the first quarter of the New Year. Ignorance is bliss! Sealed
