If you aren't working at the moment, at least you can rest a little easier knowing that VISA sponsorships for foreign workers is down which means less competition for the few jobs that are out there. Of course that doesn't change your immediate situation but a least you aren't standing in the unemployment line while foreign workers enter the US on employer sponsored VISAs and can get a job faster than you - undoubtedly because of cheap labor. Perhaps Washington will keep this in mind while the economy is working on a recovery. Think about it - the same countries that we have been supporting in the way of work VISAs, are they returning the favor? It shouldn't take long to figure that one out.
