fewer job openings slow hiring fuels unemployment

Who says there aren't job openings? Well according to the US Labor Department there are 2.7 million jobs available. Of course, these are just the ones they know about. At the same time while that sounds like a huge number...it is also the lowest number of job openings in 8 years. Just a year ago the number of job openings was 4 million. So the good news is that there are quite a few jobs available nationwide. On the other hand absent new hiring, the unemployment rate is expected to grow to a staggering 10 percent by 2010. It has been a very long time since we have seen a national average unemployment rate in the double digits. So what does one do? How about - save more. Hey, summer time is here. Be creative - time to bring the lemonade stand back in! Maybe its time to focus on those "side jobs" and start bringing in more cash. Make those ends meet. Cool
